"For those of us who knew him, the expectation that a documentary about Gallagher could be more peculiar than the Gallagher we experienced, would seem unattainable. But that turns out to be wrong." - DAVID LETTERMAN
"It's a facinating watch, a sympathetic portrait of an aggressively unsympathetic man." - PATTON OSWALT
"Finally all my thousands of questions about Gallagher have been answered. This kind of movie is candy to me." - JUDD APATOW
"I had no idea he was anything more than the watermelon smasher. Great doc!" - NATASHA LEGGERO
"Not just a great comedy documentary, but one of the best documentaries I have ever seen." - BOBCAT GOLDTHWAIT
"Undeniably moving...a fitting swan song for comedy's ugly duckling" - Larry Fried, POV MAGAZINE
"A bittersweet look at the man who was America’s top comedian for 15 years, GALLAGHER is a staggering achievement. I was moved to the point of tears — it is one of the best films at DOC NYC this year and one of the great cinematic surprises of the year."
- Steve Kopian, UNSEEN FILMS
"An impressive array of comics tell the tale of a comedian who innovated like few others. While GALLAGHER is an angry man, berating the filmmakers, it’s not hard to see the sad man underneath it all, confused by a world that turns its back on entertainers they once loved. Gallagher makes a compelling case for reexamination." - Matt Solomon, CRACKED.COM
